Sharon Ledwith’s Top Fav Time Travel Books

Since I’m writing a time travel series for middle-grade/YA, beginning with The Last Timekeepers and the Arch of Atlantis, debuting May 18th through Musa Publishing, I thought it would be fun and fitting to do a little time traveling in my mind and recall what books had planted their seeds and rooted me firmly in this genre. It was tough to nail five picks, even with all the technological tools and data out there. But when I hit on a title, I went for how the book made me feel when I read it. After asking that, it made my choices easy.

So, without further ado, my five fav time travel reads…

  • The Outlander Series by Diana Gabaldon—kilts, romance, and a kick-ass heroine!
  • A Wrinkle In Time by Madeleine L’Engle—Newbury winner and tesseracts included.
  • The Time Machine by H.G. Wells—a must read classic for any serious time-travel fan.
  • A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court by Mark Twain—one of the world’s first stories about time travel.
  • A Knight in Shining Armor by Jude Deveraux—you had me at knight and shining!

When not writing or digging up the past, she enjoys reading, yoga, kayaking, time with family and friends, and single malt scotch. Sharon lives in the wilds of Muskoka in Central Ontario, Canada, with her hubby, a water-logged yellow Labrador and moody calico cat.
