#FitReaders December 2020

Fit Readers is a group/challenge run by Felicia @ Geeky Bloggers Book Blog and Jen @ That’s What I’m Talking About, designed to support and encourage each other on our health and fitness goals. This is the first time I’ve decided to join up–and all because I’ve been working out every day and eating right! So, what better way that to share that journey with others!

December 2020 Commitment

So much has changed in a few weeks–one thing is that I went off a little too much on my diet.

It’s okay, though, because the few pounds that I gained back, I’ve almost lost in just a week’s time. I just have one more to go before I’m back down to my lowest weight. Which, I’ve been back on my diet and doing great! I now have one more person in the house who eats like I do now, and she’s been eating low-carb for longer than I have so she has some amazing recipe ideas! She even made low-card sides for Thanksgiving!

This just means that my next update, I should be able to report only good things!

Food Goals

So, I’m still doing the Trim Healthy Mama diet. For those of you that aren’t familiar with it, well… If you’re aware of how Keto works–few carbs, balanced fat and protein; Trim Healthy Mama works like that…half the time. 🙂

I can eat two types of meals on this diet. The “S” or satisfying meals, that follow the tenants (pretty much of Keto). No sugar, no carbs, with veggies and protein.

The “E”, or energizing meals are low-fat meals. I can have a decent amount of (healthy) carbohydrates with very little fat in these meals. All with protein and veggies.

There’s a little more to it that all this, but that’s basically it. I can switch back and forth between these two meals, with some “Fuel Pull” meals to help boost my weight loss; that’s where I basically have very little fat and carbs in a meal. 🙂

So far, so good. This is the best diet I’ve ever done and it lets me eat a wide range of choices. I have to say, a half a sprouted bagel and egg whites are becoming one of my favorite breakfasts.

Exercise Goals

The husband has decided that everyone in the house will be exercising. Kids, adults, everyone. So, in the morning, I do a workout with an app and then I walk at least 2 miles a day with the kids.

Spiritual Goals

Our bible study still got pushed back a little. One of the ladies has to fly out to a wedding in December, plus we just got through a holiday weekend. So, it’s looking like late December before we can start back up again. In the meantime, however, I’m continuing to do my own bible reading on a daily basis.

Anyone else trying to be more healthy in 2020? What are your goals?

  1. I’m not a mom, but this diet sounds like one I should try. I tried keto, but it is so hard to completely give up carbs. Partly because I’m single and hate to cook for myself most of the time. I should join something like this. I have got to get to losing weight again. I rejoined WW last summer, and did good for a while, but then that slacked off once school started again. I also need to start exercising! Good luck on your goals, and great job at losing weight as you have been!

    • Ohhhh, I HIGHLY recommend it! I had the same issue with Keto–it wasn’t sustainable for me because my cravings for carbs–even just an apple!– were too strong.
THM, makes it to where I can have certain breads AND FRUIT!!! I missed fruit so much! 🙂
I’ve heard great things about WW! But, I love this one, because it helps me to get rid of sugar completely–and I have hormone issues that I’m dealing with, where getting rid of sugar is paramount.
And, even if you don’t have the money for or desire to buy the cookbooks, I’d just suggest starting out with this one. And I started by joinging their FB groups to get recipe ideas that weren’t super expensive. 🙂

Thanks and good luck to you! 🙂
