This lovely story takes place in Scotland–one of my favorite setting for a historical romance!
This was a solid romance with some very sweet moments! Lydia, our main character and governess, makes her way to Scotland for a new assignment after escaping a difficult situation. But she finds that there are challenges for her with her new charge, Mairead. But Lydia is a strong, intelligent woman and manages to rise above these issues and make an impression in the process.
This appears to be a new series that I will hoping to continue!
