First, thank you for hosting me on your lovely blog. You happen to be my first guest blog on the Hollywood Ever After Blog Tour sooo I thought I’d share why I picked Hollywood as a backdrop.

Why? Because I love movies. I mean love, love them. If I’m not buried in a book, I’m watching a movie. And it doesn’t have to be a particularly good movie (love cheesy SciFi channel movies or over-the-top melodramas that aren’t supposed to be melodramas) or something I haven’t seen before. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve watched favorites like Gladiator, Pride and Prejudice, 300, the Holiday, Love Actually, or pretty much anything with Chris Hemsworth or Gerard Butler in it… I’m not a stalker, exactly, just a devoted fan. 🙂

When I write, my Hollywood fixation is appeased. How? I’m so glad you asked. I cast my characters with actors and actresses that I ‘see’ playing them. And it’s a lot of fun! Sometimes it’s an immediate fit, other times I really have to search to find the right person. Sometimes I find them before I start writing; sometimes they emerge as the pages are being written. By the end of the story I have a very solid and-I think-Academy Award winning ensemble.

Now, I will not tell you who I used for Josh and Claire. I know how it is for a reader – or at least how I am as a reader. I don’t always see characters the same way as authors or other readers and it bugs me when their image butts heads with mine. So, I encourage you to let your imagination run wild. Find your own ideal Josh (sigh) or Claire – and let me know who you’d ‘cast’!

Sasha Summers is part gypsy. Her passions have always been storytelling, history, romance, and travel. She writes both lyrical romantic fantasy and contemporary romance. Her first play was written for her Girl Scout troupe. She’s been writing ever since.

She loves getting lost in the worlds and characters she creates; even if she frequently forgets to run the dishwasher or wash socks when she’s doing so. Luckily, her four brilliant children and hero-inspiring hubby are super understanding and supportive.
